FC 27 Trading Tips and Tricks: 9 Methods That Still Work

From zero-risk bronze trading to promo investing, these are the nine FUT trading methods that still work in FC 27, with the rules that keep each one profitable.

Updated 5 min read

Trading is the most reliable way to build coins in Ultimate Team, and FC 27 is no different. The methods have not changed much over the years. What changes is the discipline: the traders who make coins every season follow a few rules the others skip.

Below are nine methods that still work, what each one needs, and the rules that keep them profitable. Start with the one that matches your budget and time.

The rules that apply to every method

Before any method, three rules:

  • The 5% EA tax is always there. A card sold for 10,000 returns 9,500. Every trade needs a gap bigger than the tax.
  • Price check before every trade. Search the card, look at the lowest real Buy Now listings, and trust the market over your memory.
  • Profit only counts when the card sells. A cheap card nobody wants is not a bargain.

9,00010,0009,500+500

1. Buy now sniping

Best for: any budget, quick profits, lots of attention.

Search specific cards or groups with a max Buy Now well below market value and buy anything that appears under it. Relist at market value.

Rules:

  • Set your max from a fresh price check, around 90% of the sell price.
  • Vary the min price between searches to get fresh results.
  • Do not search at machine speed.

Our best sniping filters for FC 27 guide covers this in depth.

2. Bid trading (mass bidding)

Best for: small to medium budgets, players with time to watch auctions.

Place low bids on many listings of the same card that are ending soon. You win a few of them far below market value and relist those at the normal price.

Rules:

  • Bid on cards ending in the next minutes, not hours.
  • Your bid limit follows the same maths as sniping.
  • Do not spam hundreds of bids at once. EA limits bid activity just like searches.

3. Flipping

Best for: medium budgets, patient traders.

Buy cards at their normal price when demand is low (weekday mornings, quiet hours) and list them when demand is higher (evenings, weekends, before Weekend League). The profit comes from the daily price swing.

Rules:

  • Pick cards with steady demand, like popular meta players.
  • Expect small margins per card, so trade in volume.

4. SBC fodder investing

Best for: medium to large budgets.

Big SBCs need high rated players, and every new one pushes those prices up. Buy fodder (for example gold players rated 84 to 87) when the market is quiet and sell when a demanding SBC drops.

Rules:

  • Buy during quiet periods, not after an SBC is already live.
  • Spread across ratings instead of betting on one.

5. Promo investing

Best for: larger budgets, players who follow FUT news.

Before a new promo, cards linked to it (players likely to get upgrades, leagues or nations in the theme) can rise in value. After a big promo launches, prices of older cards often drop as packs flood the market.

Rules:

  • Buy early, sell into the hype, not after it.
  • Never invest your whole club in one prediction.

6. Rewards day trading

Best for: any budget.

On weekly rewards days, many players open packs and list cards quickly, and prices dip. Buy the cards you want in those hours and list them later in the week when prices recover.

Rules:

  • Target cards with steady demand.
  • Be ready to hold for a few days.

7. The bronze pack method

Best for: zero to small budgets, patient grinders.

Buy cheap bronze packs, sell the items with value (certain players, chemistry styles, consumables) and use or quick sell the rest. Margins are thin, but it is low risk and builds a first trading budget.

Rules:

  • Know which items sell before you start opening.
  • Stop if pack contents or prices change and it stops paying.

8. Chemistry style trading

Best for: small budgets, steady profits.

Popular chemistry styles sell all season. Buy them under market value, especially after rewards days, and relist at the normal price.

Rules:

  • Stick to styles for popular positions.
  • Watch for changes when new chemistry mechanics or promos arrive.

9. Listing above market (lazy listing)

Best for: anyone with spare transfer list slots.

List some cards slightly above market value with a long duration. Players who search in a hurry, especially during Weekend League or late at night, sometimes buy without checking. It is slow, but it turns idle slots into extra profit.

Rules:

  • Do not tie up slots you need for faster trades.
  • Keep the price believable, not absurd.

Managing your transfer list

Your transfer list has a fixed number of slots, and slots are coins. A few habits keep it working:

  • Clear sold items often, so the coins arrive and the slots free up.
  • Relist unsold cards quickly, adjusting the price if the market moved.
  • Do not fill every slot with slow, above-market listings. Keep space for fast trades.
  • Move cards you are holding for an investment into your club, not the transfer list.
  • Use the watchlist for bids and cards you plan to buy, not as storage.

A weekly trading rhythm

Ultimate Team has a weekly pulse. Planning around it beats reacting to it:

WhenWhat usually happensWhat to do
Rewards dayMany packs opened, prices dipBuy cards you want to sell later
MidweekPrices recover, market steadyRelist and flip
New content dropsDemand spikes for specific cardsSell fodder and linked players
Before Weekend LeaguePlayers upgrade squadsSell meta players
During big pack promosSupply floods in, prices fallBuy carefully, avoid panic selling

Track your profit

Most traders who say “trading does not work” never tracked a single trade. Keep a simple log: card, buy price, sell price after tax, time to sell. After a week you will know which methods and filters really earn, and which just keep you busy.

Trading without the hours

Every method above pays by the hour you put in. That is the real limit on trading, not knowledge. An autobuyer automates the sniping and relisting parts so your coins keep working while you do something else.

FUTCLOUD is a cloud autobuyer that has run since FIFA 16. It trades your club 24/7 with human-like pacing and conservative limits, it is free to start and profits are split 50/50. Before you automate anything, read is a FUT autobuyer safe? so you know the trade-off.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best trading method in FC 27?

There is no single best method. Sniping and bid trading are the most consistent for small and medium budgets. Promo investing and SBC fodder investing make the biggest profits for larger budgets, with more risk.

How much do I need to start trading?

You can start bronze and silver trading with a few thousand coins. Most methods get comfortable from around 20,000 to 50,000 coins, and promo investing needs more because you hold cards for days.

How does the EA tax affect trading?

EA keeps 5% of every sale. A card sold for 10,000 returns 9,500, so any trade needs a gap of more than 5% between buy and sell price just to break even.

How long should I list cards for?

For quick flips, 1 hour listings keep your transfer list moving. For cards you expect to sell during a busier time, a longer listing can catch that window. Cards that do not sell simply return to your transfer list.
