Best Sniping Filters for FC 27: Setup, Prices and Timing

A sniping filter is only as good as its maths. Here is how to set max buy now prices that beat the EA tax, which cards are worth targeting and when to run them.

Updated 6 min read

A sniping filter is a saved transfer market search with a price limit: “show me this card, or these cards, listed at or below this Buy Now price”. Every autobuyer and every manual sniper runs on filters. Good filters buy cards that sell for a profit. Bad filters buy cards that sell for less than you paid once the 5% tax is taken.

This guide covers the maths behind a profitable filter, the price steps you need to know, which cards are worth targeting in FC 27 and when to run your searches.

What a sniping filter is made of

A filter combines any of these fields on the transfer market search:

  • Player or type (quality, rarity, position, chemistry style)
  • League, club and nation
  • Min and max bid price
  • Min and max Buy Now price

For sniping, the key field is Max Buy Now. It is the most you are willing to pay, and it decides whether the trade can ever be profitable.

The price steps in FC 27

Transfer market prices do not move one coin at a time. They move in fixed steps that depend on the price range. You need these to set a max price that the market can actually show you.

Price rangeStep
Up to 1,00050
1,000 to 10,000100
10,000 to 50,000250
50,000 to 100,000500
Above 100,0001,000

So a card cannot be listed at 12,300: the nearest valid prices are 12,250 and 12,500.

The max buy now maths

Every sale loses 5% to EA tax. Work backwards from the sell price:

  1. Find the real sell price. Search the card and look at the lowest few Buy Now listings. Ignore one odd listing, look for the level where cards actually sell.
  2. Take off the tax. Multiply by 0.95.
  3. Take off your margin. Decide what profit makes the trade worth it.
  4. Round down to a valid price step.

Example for a card that sells at 20,000:

StepValue
Sell price20,000
After 5% tax19,000
Minus 1,000 margin18,000
Max Buy Now18,000

A simpler rule of thumb: max buy now at about 90% of the sell price or lower. The closer you go to 95%, the more trades you win and the less each one is worth, until the tax eats all of it.

Which cards are worth sniping

Some cards have more mispriced listings than others. These are the usual winners:

  • Popular meta players. Everyone wants them, so they sell fast, and they are listed often enough to be mispriced now and then.
  • High rated SBC fodder. Demand jumps whenever a big SBC drops, and supply comes from packs.
  • League, nation or position fodder needed by current SBCs and evolutions.
  • New promo cards in the first hours after release, while prices are still settling.
  • Chemistry styles for popular positions, which sell steadily all season.
  • Extinct or rare cards, where the few listings that appear are often below the new market price.

Avoid cards that nobody searches for. A cheap listing is worthless if you cannot sell the card afterwards.

Wide filters vs single player filters

Single playerWide filter
Listings foundFewerMany more
PricingEasy, one cardHarder, many cards
Risk of overpayingLowHigher
Best forBeginners, expensive cardsFodder, rarities, experienced traders

A wide filter, for example “gold rare players rated 84, max Buy Now 1,300”, catches far more listings, but you need to know the floor price of the whole group to avoid buying cards that sell for less.

Beating cached results

If you run the exact same search twice in a row, you often get the same results back. Snipers get around that by changing a meaningless field between searches, usually the min bid or min Buy Now price, so the market treats it as a new search. Good autobuyers vary this automatically and, just as important, do not do it at machine speed. See is a FUT autobuyer safe? for why pacing matters.

When to snipe

Timing changes how many bargains appear:

  • Right after content drops. New promos, SBCs and packs usually arrive in the evening UK time. Pack openers list fast and cheap in the first hour.
  • Rewards days. Weekly rewards flood the market with cards, and many players sell without checking prices.
  • Quiet hours. Late night and early morning in Europe have fewer active snipers competing for the same listings.
  • Price crashes. When a big promo lands, prices fall across the board. Snipe carefully, because your sell price may fall too.

Common mistakes

  • Setting max buy now from memory instead of a fresh price check.
  • Forgetting the tax, so every “profit” is actually a loss.
  • Sniping cards nobody buys. Profit only counts once the card sells.
  • Running one filter all day. Prices move, and a filter that worked this morning can lose money tonight.
  • Searching too fast. The fastest route to a transfer market soft ban.

Filter templates by budget

Exact prices change every day, so these templates use the maths above instead of fixed numbers. Fill in the current market price when you use them.

Reading supply and demand

Good filters follow the market rather than fight it:

  • Supply rises after rewards days, big pack promos and store refreshes. Prices fall, bargains appear, and your sell prices may fall too.
  • Demand rises when SBCs, evolutions or objectives need specific cards. Target those cards before the requirement goes live.
  • Prices recover during quiet weekday periods, which is when relisting pays best.

If you only remember one thing: buy when many people are selling, sell when many people need something.

Keeping filters fresh all season

A filter that worked last week can lose coins this week. Keep a routine:

  1. Re-check prices daily for every filter you run.
  2. Retire filters that stop finding listings or stop selling.
  3. Add filters for cards linked to new SBCs, evolutions and promos.
  4. Lower max prices before big pack events, raise them carefully after.
  5. Track what sells. A simple list of buy price, sell price and time to sell tells you which filters earn.

How FUTCLOUD handles filters

With FUTCLOUD you do not build or maintain filters yourself. The cloud autobuyer chooses what to search, prices each trade against the current market and the EA tax, relists what it buys and paces everything like a human trader. You link your club once, and it keeps working 24/7 while your PC stays off.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good max buy now for sniping?

Take the price the card reliably sells for, multiply by 0.95 for EA tax, then subtract the profit you want. As a rule of thumb, your max buy now should be around 90% of the real sell price or lower.

Why do my sniping searches always return nothing?

Either your max price is too low for the current market, other snipers are faster, or you are seeing cached results. Changing the min bid or min buy now price slightly between searches forces fresh results.

When is the best time to snipe in FC 27?

Right after content drops and on rewards days, when many players list cards quickly. Late night and early morning in Europe have fewer snipers, which also helps.

Should I snipe one player or a wide filter?

Wide filters (a league, a rarity, a rating range) find more listings but need careful price checks. Single player filters are easier to price and are a good place to start.
